Important Information for Applicants
Leadership Waterloo Region is able to provide a very limited number of tuition discounts each year.
Please contact us for more information. An applicant's request for a tuition discount will not affect the selection process.
Full attendance is mandatory. In addition, participants will work in teams on community projects. These projects will require an additional time commitment that participants will schedule at the discretion of their project teams.
Applicants are asked to sign a declaration of "personal commitment", ensuring they will devote the time and resources necessary to complete the Leadership Waterloo Region program. In addition, participants who are absent for any reason for any part of the opening retreat, or from more than one "Leadership Day" workshop will be required to withdraw from the program, and their program fee will neither be refunded nor transferred.
As well, organizations/workplaces sponsoring applicants will sign a declaration ensuring the applicant has their full support, if accepted into the program, to devote the time required to participate in the program. Program fees for the 10-month program are $4500. It is suggested that participants themselves pay a minimum of $500 toward the program fee. Whatever portion is not covered by the participant is generally covered by his/her employer or another sponsoring organization.
Program fees are neither refundable nor transferable and must be paid by August 15th, or approximately one month prior to the start of the program year.
Leadership Days in recent years have focused on the following:

Understanding Social Profit Governance
