Tailored for busy professionals from all three sectors of our community (business, government and social profit), the Leadership Waterloo Region program provides an opportunity for participants to explore their personal leadership styles, practice leadership skills in a group setting, and learn more about the make-up of our community including both its outstanding characteristics and the challenges it faces. Each year between 20 and 30 applicants are selected to participate. The class comes together for a total of 10 weekdays and 2 weekends between September and June for a series of workshops. In addition, the class is divided into work teams that each takes on responsibility for the completion of a project in our community. Class members are introduced to our community's present leaders and join a growing network of program graduates, all of whom are working to ensure the long-term health and prosperity of our community.

Leadership for our future
Our communities will face numerous challenges in the coming decade. A CELEBRATION OF LEADERSHIP ! Class of 2008 Commencement The 21 participants in the Class of 2008 began their leadership journey at the opening workshop in September 2007 and celebrated the completion of their program year on June 19th. The Commencement Ceremony was held at the Waterloo Region Record.
